Language Objective: I will learn that portraits are pictures of people and self-portraits are pictures of you. I will learn about value by mixing lights and dark paint. I will learn Emphasis by creating a up-close view of a cow. Materials: tempera paint, and crayon. Engage: Learn about value watch value video and how to create it in a picture. That none of the people were green, blue, purple, or red. Explain: Show step by step how to draw a person from head to toe using shapes. Elaborate: Students draw a self-portrait of themselves from head to toe. Students make sure they create clothes on the person that represents them. Students add themselves in a setting that represents them. Students color in their picture neatly and completely thinking of the colors of the objects like their skin, shirt, paints, and shoes. Students color in their setting making sure that they don't color over their portrait or scribble scrabble. Students outline their drawing with crayon and add details with crayon.
